Blog Catalog and its Pulling Power
I can’t believe how fast my blog got accepted on BlogCatalog. This is not the first time that I have passed a blog and got accepted by them. The first time I pass a blog took me a week and it also took me 4 times to pass before my blog got finally accepted.
As this post imply on the title so I’m going to explain how it can be used to get some traffic to our site. The first thing that you must know about this social site is that you need to get your blog approved before you can get some visitor going to your site. Once approve then they will display your site’s url on their listing and that will help you get more traffics to your site.
Aside from getting those free traffics to your site, you can also buy some advertisement from them. Basically there are three types of ads to be you can choose your ads to be. Here are the following:
- Site Wide Sponsorships
- Exclusive Channel Sponsorship
- Niche Conversation Sponsorship
They don’t have many details about the price. I think that they have forgotten about on selling this to advertisers. After you have chosen what are you going to use then you can head on over to filling in the form on the sidebar. I have provided a picture of the form.

The other thing that you can do get some additional visitors to your sit is by sponsoring a categories.
1. Category Position – for just $8/month, your blog will show in there category specific directory. This is only a first come, first serve basis.
2. Category Spotlight – for $120/month, your blog will be displayed on the top position of the category page. This will ensure you of more visitors to your site.

I joined blog catalog about a month ago and I really like them. I haven’t bought any advertisements, but it has increased my traffic.

Writing gives you the illusion of control, and then you realize it’s just an illusion, that people are going to bring their own stuff into it.
